RBIWGC promotes competitive amateur women’s golf
Home course for the Rancho Bernardo Inn Women’s Golf Club is the championship Rancho Bernardo Inn golf course in northern San Diego County. From the gold tees, the course is 4,943 yards long, with a rating of 69.1 and a slope of 120.
The Club boasts a membership of 81 players, of all skill levels and diverse ages and backgrounds, from across San Diego County.
The purpose of the organization is to promote, supervise and conduct competitive golf for amateur women golfers, age 18 and above, in accordance with the Rules of Golf adopted by the United States Golf Association, and as modified by local rules approved by the Board of Directors.
Benefits of membership include:
- Playing golf in weekly competitions and in special tournaments.
- Establishing and maintaining an individual handicap.
- Learning the rules, etiquette and true spirit of the game of golf in order to promote its highest standards.
- Gaining automatic membership in the Southern California Golf Association.
Most weekly play days feature a Sweeps game (see Calendar for a complete list of the weekly games in 2023).
The Club marks its 60th anniversary in 2023. It was founded in 1963, only a year after the annexation of the community of Rancho Bernardo by the City of San Diego. First-year membership totaled 84 players. (See more historical details here.)
