The Rancho Bernardo Inn Women’s Golf Club will host its annual Invitational tournament on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

Planning is under way for this year’s event, which will begin with an early check-in and a continental breakfast on the Veranda patio at RBI. The Club expects a full field of 144 amateur women golfers to participate in the day’s competition, followed by a cocktail reception, sit-down luncheon, recognitions and team awards.

Theme of the tournament is “The Fabulous ‘50s,” and participants are eligible for a team “best-costume” award.

“Our membership looks forward to hosting this legacy tournament on the beautiful Rancho Bernardo Inn golf course,” said Kathy Christopher, Invitational co-chair. “We are especially excited for the 2021 Invitational, given we had to postpone this historical event last year because of the pandemic. We are all ready for a fun-filled day with our guests and look forward to lots of creativity in team costumes to support our Fabulous ‘50s theme.”

More details about tournament will be available in the coming weeks and months.

The Invitational has been a Club tradition since its founding year. The first Invitational was a three-day event in spring 1964 and has since grown into one of the premier women’s golfing events in San Diego County.

Rancho Bernardo Inn, located at 17550 Bernardo Oaks Drive in north San Diego, is a destination resort known for its superb golf and spa facilities and for its exceptional cuisine.

The 18-hole championship golf course opened for play in 1962 and was originally designed by William Francis Bell, also the architect of Torrey Pines and several other top-rated courses in Southern California. RBI is managed by JC Golf Management and has a championship rating of 72.3. More information about the course is available at 888-976-4417 or at https://www.ranchobernardoinn.com.
